    TSB 12-2-10 - F150 engine shudder issue

Well it looks like Ford has come out with a new "tune" for the F150 which is supposed to address low mileage, as well as what they call "engine shudder." My truck is at the dealer today getting the bed liner and tonneau installed, so I asked that they get this TSB's upgraded tune written to the truck while its there.

I've only been getting about 14.6mpg average... while another customer who was in service today when I dropped mine off claimed to be getting 25.5mpg highway in his truck! So here's to hoping this tune adjustment really helps things out!

I got the "latest calibration" written to the PCM today. So the trans is going back through its adaptive learning cycle(s), but on a stretch of road a few miles long with some hills and whatever, the truck pulled 24.5mpg according to the instant calc! Pretty awesome.

It also felt a bit peppier under light throttle. Maybe its in my head. Also worth noting, the turbos seemed to be a bit quieter during the ride home.

Mileage has increased, Trans shifts better and faster down shifts too.

    Latest flash = good!

Buddy in TX flashed his truck and went from 15mph around town to 22mpg!
